Love is like an hourglass, with the heart filling up as the brain empties

I’m a hopeless romantic, I think that’s why I have a partiality for Jane Austen novels and any romantic novel. I tend to like Historical Romances more than Modern Romance because I prefer the customs and the courting that come with the Historical Romances. I admire how it was back then. With manners and etiquette taking precedence and I do like the fashion to say the least. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in the Regency or Victorian era. There are flaws and drawbacks in some of the ways in which they functioned back then, but I still think it’s a romantics dream era. I love the beautiful English countryside scenery and English estates in the film or television versions of Jane Austen novels. It looks just beautiful and makes me wish I lived in Europe. I get sick of the dry browny Australian ‘green’ sometimes. I find the bush scenery to be a bit boring now. It doesn’t catch my interest as much as European forests. Maybe that’s my inner European side coming out to play. I plan to go to Europe in the near future on a career venture or the like. That’s one of my main goals.

I haven’t been doing much else these holidays apart from reading. I’ve devoured 5 or 6 books already, and I’m hungry for more! I plan to go out to the library before this week is through. I also plan to go to shopping at my local shopping centre, hopefully there will still be some stock left in the stores I like… I’ve had my eyes on these sandals at sportsgirl for a while, I think they’re on sale now. I really hope there will be a pair left for my little ol’ feet! If not it’s not a huge drama, I saw a pair almost identical in another shoe store thats around the same price. I don’t have a picture to show you of them, sorry! But they are unusual and not really my normal style, and I think thats why I like them.

I’m looking into getting a new perfume. I still have lots of my Vera Wang, Princess perfume left from last Christmas but I think I need a new scent. I’m looking towards Euphoria by Calvin Klein, I think thats who its by and there are a couple of others I like. I love it how a perfume smells different on other people. The other day, after catching a whiff of a lovely perfume on a friend, I discovered she was also wearing Princess! It smelled completely different on her. On me, the base notes really come through and I think the heart notes on my friends came into effect more so than the base notes. I love vanilla-ry scents and slightly heavier scents.. I’m not the biggest fan of really flower-y light and fluffy perfumes. I just don’t think they suit me.

I really need to get my butt into gear and write out a list of Christmas presents I still need to get! Eek!
